What is Guided Meditation?

Guided meditation will walk you through the steps of relaxation. Often the guide will begin by telling you to close your eyes. They will walk you through the steps to help your body reach a place of relaxation so that your mind is able to connect and relax. Once you have reached a state of relaxation they will help to walk you through some meditative exercises such as visualization. At the end of a session a good practitioner will always encourage you to write down thoughts related to your experience.

Try a few sessions

Having a few sessions of guided meditation can help to set you up so that you can achieve meditation on your own. However, some people find that they not only like to meditate at home by themselves, they also prefer to continue participating in a guided meditation group.
