The signs of the zodiac date back as far as the Babylonian empire and their study of the constellations led them to create something similar to our calendar year so they could track the course of the year through the skies. From this they were able to create the first known celestial coordinate system. You can see how the Zodiac signs have a long, important history in our lives. Though the application of the zodiac has certainly changed over the course of centuries, there are some things that have essentially remained the same. In fact, many of the signs still have their ancient Chaldean names such as Gemini the Twins, known as “The Great Twins” during ancient times, or Taurus the Bull who was known as “The Great Steer”. After all, though human beings may evolve and change, the stars remain constant in their path through our skies.
